ER Leadership

How does the ER Leadership simulator work?

Students will triage over 200 virtual patients while background sound distractors are present an assign an ESI level of acuity of Level 1 through Level 5.

Students will then assign a nurse competent in skills and experience to care for that patient.

Students will adjust staffing when needed and move assigned nurses to other patients according to highest level of acuity and best available staff.

Students will discharge and transfer patients promptly as indicated.

Students will appropriately divert patients when no other option exists.

All leadership decisions will be timed and overall actions per simulation will be measured for accuracy.

Students will be assessed for their ability to properly sequential think with all actions.

Students will achieve an overall through-put time at completion to demonstrate their timely ability to move patients rapidly through a busy emergency department setting.
